Troubleshooting
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about products, price units, artwork, quotes, production and integrations.
Guide source reviewed for PressFlow 1.25.1.
Can I use PressFlow with my existing WooCommerce shop?
Yes. Install it alongside WooCommerce and configure the supported simple products you want it to manage. Test your theme, checkout and other extensions together. It does not turn every product into a print configurator automatically. See Installation.
Do I need to be a developer to create a print product?
The seven-step product setup is intended for shop staff. You need to understand your own options, selling prices, production promises and artwork requirements. Hooks and template code are optional developer tools. See First product.
Why is a run of 500 copies only one basket item?
It is one configured job. The 500-copy specification and complete-run selling price live on that job. Add another job for a second design or different specification. See Customer ordering.
Does a WooCommerce regular price set my print job price?
No. A managed job is priced by its PressFlow configuration. A nominal product price is not a safe starting-price minimum. Use the setup's pricing controls. See Pricing methods.
What does m² × copies mean?
It is the charged area per copy multiplied by the print count, with the configured dimension/area rounding. It is useful for area-priced work, but is not a calculation of raw sheet consumption, nesting, waste or machine utilisation. See Custom-size pricing.
Can I increase every price by a percentage?
Yes. Product-wide adjustment tools support percentage and fixed-value changes with scopes, rounding, preview and draft undo. Review the stored units and save when ready. See Price adjustments.
Can a coupon show reduced prices before checkout?
An eligible, explicitly assigned public WooCommerce percentage coupon can appear in the starting price/configurator and apply through WooCommerce in the basket. Conditional private coupons remain subject to normal checkout rules. See Discounts.
Why are inclusive and exclusive prices the same?
Check matching tax rates, product class, customer location and exemption. Zero-rated/exempt cases can correctly produce equal amounts. PressFlow never assumes 20%. See VAT.
Can customers upload after buying?
Yes, where the workflow permits it, through the basket/checkout controls, their account or an authorised guest job route. Artwork is locked after production starts. See Customer artwork.
Does “Artwork provided” mean print-ready?
No. It means a file/link was supplied. Staff review, check clearance and any required current proof approval still determine production readiness. See Artwork review.
Does PressFlow check everything in a PDF?
No. Its bounded checks inspect supported properties such as dimensions, page boxes and page count. Your shop must still perform appropriate professional prepress checks. See Artwork requirements.
Can I keep artwork indefinitely by saving a job?
No. File retention still applies, including saved-library copies. Keep originals and tell customers the shop's policy. See Artwork storage.
Can a guest approve a proof?
Guests can use an authorised private job route where supplied. A registered customer uses their own account. Knowing an order number or email address is not sufficient access. See Proofs and progress.
Does the board support dragging cards between stages?
The current board uses explicit stage actions. Some stages are derived from requirements, and printing cannot bypass payment, artwork, proof or blocking issues. See Production dashboard.
Does resolving a flag resume a held job?
No. Resolve the issue, review the hold/readiness and explicitly resume through the supported action. See Flags and holds.
Does dispatch automatically complete the whole order?
No. Jobs can be fulfilled independently. Check the remaining order items before completing the WooCommerce order. See Dispatch.
Can I edit descriptions with Elementor or WPBakery?
Yes, using the installed builder's supported product editing. PressFlow can place the main WooCommerce description below the configurator or let the template own it. It does not include a builder licence. See Product content.
Will every WooCommerce extension work automatically?
WooCommerce is the foundation, but extensions that change pricing, line quantities, checkout fields, product templates or file handling can intersect with print-job behavior. Verify the actual combination. See Developer testing.
Why is an email queued?
Scheduled tasks send current notifications after the relevant state is saved. Check cron and delivery logs. A sent status records transport acceptance, not inbox delivery. See Emails.
Are demo products ready for real sales?
No. They are draft examples. Review selling prices, options, tax, timing, artwork and catalogue content before enabling/publishing. See Demo products.
Where do developers find the supported integration points?
Use the hook reference, shortcodes and theme/VAT guide. The reference distinguishes emitted PressFlow hooks from theme-defined integration contracts.
