Show a product discount throughout the shop

Assign a verified public WooCommerce percentage coupon to a print product without discounting twice.

PressFlow 1.25.3 · 3 min read

Use PressFlow's Automatic shop promotion when a percentage offer should appear in the catalogue and configurator and be applied through WooCommerce in the basket. Ordinary private or conditional coupon codes can still be entered at checkout under WooCommerce's normal rules.

Example: 30% off mugs

  1. Enable coupons in WooCommerce → Settings → General.
  2. Open Marketing → Coupons, add or edit a coupon and choose Percentage discount, amount 30.
  3. In its product restrictions, explicitly select the mugs product. Publish the coupon. A broad category-only coupon is not enough for PressFlow's assigned public offer.
  4. Open the mugs product in WooCommerce → Print product setup. In Review & enable → Automatic shop promotion, enter its WooCommerce percentage coupon code.
  5. Check a starting specification and several configured jobs, save the setup, then test adding a job to the basket.

For the underlying coupon screen, see WooCommerce coupon management.

Which coupons can be advertised this way?

The assigned coupon must be a published percentage coupon with an amount greater than zero and no more than 100, explicitly include this product and remain eligible. Public preview cannot safely promise an offer that depends on an email address, minimum or maximum basket spend, per-user usage allowance or a limit on the number of qualifying items. Those restrictions are not supported for the assigned public offer.

Expiry, overall usage limits and normal exclusions still matter. An expired or exhausted coupon stops being an eligible offer. Recheck the customer journey when editing the coupon; its eligibility is evaluated rather than copied permanently into the product.

Avoid double discounts

Keep the underlying PressFlow selling prices at the intended undiscounted values. PressFlow previews the percentage saving, and WooCommerce applies the coupon to the basket job. Do not also reduce the price table by 30% for the same promotion.

WooCommerce's nominal regular/sale price on a managed print product is not its configured job price. Editing that placeholder is not how to discount all its print specifications.

A run of 500 copies is one basket item. A fixed-product coupon therefore discounts the basket job according to WooCommerce's rules, not each of the 500 copies. Use percentage coupons for this public product-wide workflow.

Other coupons and removal

PressFlow does not discover and publish arbitrary coupons. It respects WooCommerce's validation and individual-use conflicts. If a customer removes an automatically applied offer, their session can retain that choice; do not keep reapplying it by changing the browser VAT preference. Check existing manual coupons before expecting another promotion to appear.

A compatible theme’s offer tab can show a verified PressFlow offer when the theme supports that integration. A theme's separate Public offer coupon selection is a presentation mechanism; it is not a substitute for PressFlow's assigned automatic promotion and does not itself apply a basket discount.
