PressFlow 1.25.3 · 3 min read

Guide source reviewed for PressFlow 1.25.2.

Write the main selling content in the WooCommerce Product description. The Product short description remains the shorter introduction near the normal title and product image.

By default, PressFlow renders the main description at full width below the complete configurator. After displaying it, PressFlow removes the native description tab and suppresses a later WordPress rendering of that same product description or its product-description block. Other page content and tabs, including reviews, remain available.

Standard WooCommerce product editing

  1. Open WooCommerce → PressFlow welcome → Colours, layout & content.
  2. Keep WooCommerce product editing screen → Standard WooCommerce product editor for the familiar product screen.
  3. Choose your preferred description-editor guidance and Below the print configurator placement.
  4. Open Products → Edit product. Edit the full description, short description, images and normal Product data as usual.
  5. Update the product and confirm that the full description appears once below the configurator.

PressFlow does not change a product into a blog post. WordPress's post.php?post=123&action=edit URL is also used for WooCommerce products. Ordinary non-print products retain their existing editor and description handling.

The description-editor preference provides guidance. It does not install a builder, purchase its licence, convert existing content or grant editing permissions.

Gutenberg

Choose Gutenberg guidance for WordPress block descriptions. Existing blocks continue to render through WordPress. This choice does not change the whole WooCommerce editing screen.

If you deliberately want to edit a configured print product with Gutenberg, use the separate WordPress block editor (advanced) product-screen choice. Check the WooCommerce/Product data panels and other product extensions before relying on it. Editor and REST support are required. Existing Elementor/WPBakery-authored products retain their editor. Put normal content blocks in the description; place the configurator through its normal hook or template.

Elementor

Enable Products in your installed Elementor settings, then use its description-editing tools. For a Single Product template, use one description widget and one configurator placement. Select Let my theme or product template place it when the template should own the description position. The installed builder, edition and template determine which tools are available.

WPBakery

Enable Products for the editing role in WPBakery → Role Manager → Post Types. Edit the main description with your installed tools. Retain the default below-configurator placement or choose template placement when your template displays it.

Custom templates

Use [pressflow_configurator show_description="no"] when your template already places the description, or use [pressflow_product_content] once in the template. Place these shortcodes in a template or another page, rather than inside that product's description. PressFlow removes its own product-rendering shortcodes during description rendering to prevent recursion and nested forms.

Theme/template placement disables automatic suppression of independent description output outside PressFlow. Keep one description widget. Custom code that prints raw HTML without WordPress content or block filters needs a template adjustment; PressFlow does not rewrite arbitrary HTML.

If content still appears twice or looks narrow

Check for two description widgets, an old copied text block or shortcode above the configurator, and custom raw-content output. Use the appropriate placement setting. Give the configurator and description a full-width row rather than putting them inside the narrow product summary. Clear theme, page, CDN and asset caches after updating.
