Pricing

Set an honest From price and starting specification

Advertise a genuine complete-job starting price with its quantity and specification.

Guide source reviewed for PressFlow 1.25.1.

PressFlow From prices represent a complete, valid configured print job. The caption states copies and per print job, with dimensions where relevant. The tooltip lists the starting specification. It is not a nominal WooCommerce regular price or a per-copy headline.

Choose a specific starting job

In Print product setup → Review & enable, find the starting-price controls. Advanced controls also expose the starting specification. Enable Use a specific starting specification, then enter copies and all required choices/dimensions.

Choose a job customers can actually order. A practical business-card reference might be the smallest offered run, standard size, your entry stock, the appropriate sides and no optional finish. Enter the real IDs/choices through the editor rather than inventing an amount.

Save validates this as a priced specification. To change the displayed amount, change the applicable selling prices or extras and recheck; the starting control chooses a specification, not an arbitrary advertised price.

Automatic references

Without a specific reference, PressFlow checks a bounded set of defaults, low-price rows and choices and retains the cheapest valid job it finds. It caches the raw reference and calculates taxes and eligible promotions for the viewer when rendering.

This search does not enumerate every possible specification. For complicated rules, arbitrary sizes, free quantities or required text, use a deliberate validated reference. An automatic result is not a mathematical proof of a global minimum over all custom values.

What different labels mean

  • From [amount]: there is a valid priced starting job.
  • Configure for a price: a safe priced reference has not been established.
  • Request a quote: the product is quote-only.

Keep those labels honest. Changing a WooCommerce placeholder price does not produce a safe PressFlow starting job. Quote-only products should not be promoted as purchasable at a token price.

Placement and refresh

Classic product and catalogue/category layouts have default starting-price positions below the title. Product Price blocks and custom templates need the correct product context. Developers can move the classic placement using pfw_from_price_hooks, or use the starting-price shortcode/public renderer.

Check the product and category views after a price change, including VAT modes and any active automatic promotion. Clear your site's page/CDN cache if it serves old HTML; the plugin's reference cache is separate from full-page caching.

See the developer hook reference for placement and programmatic starting values.
