PressFlow Self-Install or a Bespoke Print Website: Which Route Fits Your Business?

Already have a WooCommerce site, or need the whole shop designed? Compare the work, costs and support involved in each PressFlow route.

You know how you sell print. The question is how much of the website build you want to take on yourself.

With PressFlow, you can buy the plugin and configure it in your own WordPress and WooCommerce shop. Or you can ask us to design and build a tailored print website around your business. Both routes use the same understanding of print products, pricing and artwork. What changes is who turns that into a working customer experience.

Neither route needs a leap of faith. You can try the PressFlow demo before buying, and a direct plugin licence purchase comes with a 30-day no-quibble refund. Buy your licence, test it with your own products and request a full refund within 30 calendar days of payment if it isn’t right for you.

Self-install: your website, your setup

The self-install route suits a printer with an established WooCommerce website, a developer, or someone comfortable managing WordPress. You install PressFlow, activate your licence and configure the product catalogue yourself.

That means translating your selling rules into product options and prices. A business card might need quantity pricing and linked stock choices. A sign might need size-based pricing. Artwork requirements, templates and proof approval need to fit the way your team handles a job.

PressFlow gives you tools for that work, including reusable setups and example configurations. You still choose the prices, check the combinations and decide what customers should see. Examples are a useful starting point; your shop needs your own production knowledge.

The annual plugin licence is £499 excluding applicable tax, with one live shop and one staging installation, downloadable releases and standard product support during the paid term. Renewal is manual. Hosting, domains, payment processing and optional third-party tools are separate costs.

Explore the PressFlow plugin if you already have the website and want the print-specific tools.

Bespoke: a complete website shaped around your business

Sometimes the bigger task isn’t installing software. It’s deciding how the whole shop should work.

You may need a new brand-led website, a clearer catalogue, better product pages or an ordering journey that helps customers choose confidently. Perhaps your current site has grown awkwardly over time and you want the design, content and commerce to feel joined up.

Our tailored website service brings design and development into that conversation. We work from the products you sell, the customers you serve and the way your team prepares orders. The agreed scope can cover the website design, catalogue structure, product setup and launch testing, with any additional requirements discussed before work starts.

A bespoke build is quoted separately. The proposal should set out what we’ll configure, what information you need to supply, which ongoing costs apply and who will maintain the website after launch. No two print businesses need exactly the same project.

Talk to us about a tailored print website if you’d prefer a guided build rather than assembling the whole shop yourself.

Whichever route you choose, you remain the expert on your print business. A website build doesn’t remove the need to approve prices, artwork requirements and production choices. It gives you help turning those decisions into a usable shop.

Be honest about time as well as budget

A self-install licence can be a sensible purchase when the website is already in good shape. It also gives you room to experiment and develop your own approach.

But include your time in the decision. Setting up ten familiar products may be straightforward. Reworking an entire catalogue, writing product guidance and testing complicated pricing rules is a larger job. If those tasks keep getting pushed aside by production work, a tailored build may be the more practical route.

You can also start by evaluating the plugin and discuss a website project once you understand what you need. We’ll agree any service scope and charges separately.

Use the 30 days to test real products

Pick a few representative jobs rather than only the easiest product. Check typical quantities, unusual sizes, linked choices, artwork uploads and proof approval. Follow the order through checkout and into the team’s workflow.

Use a staging site for setup and payment testing before accepting live orders. WooCommerce’s testing guidance explains why test orders need care: they can trigger emails and other connected services.

If the plugin isn’t the right fit, email contact@press-flow.co.uk or use the cancellation form within 30 calendar days of payment. No reason or troubleshooting process is required. The refund covers the licence payment, including applicable tax. Separately commissioned website work follows its own agreement; your statutory rights remain unaffected. Read the support and refunds policy for the full details.
