StepWhat you doWhat to check before continuing
1. Start with a productKeep a setup, choose a built-in starting point or load a saved shop template. You are editing the intended product. Loading a template affects the draft.
2. Print optionsAdd choices, defaults, images, guidance, extras and compatibility rules.Customers can understand the names and choose a valid combination.
3. Prices & quantitiesChoose the pricing method and enter base prices, quantities, dimensions and charges.Every amount has the right charging unit and tax-entry basis.
4. Production timesDefine production choices, working days, cutoff and closures.Speed columns have prices and realistic lead times.
5. Artwork requirementsDefine finished size, pages, bleed and resolution.Requirements match the chosen product and print process.
6. Check pricesTest example jobs and product-wide price coverage.Check totals, extras, quantities, dates, missing rows and overlaps.
7. Review & enableReview starting prices, promotions, readiness and ordering status.Save only the configuration you have just checked.

Drafts versus the live product

Editing a field or applying a tool to the editor does not publish a new setup. The private draft recovery message means the current printer's recovery data was saved. Save print setup is the action that updates the product configuration.

You can save valid settings with customer ordering disabled while prices are unfinished. A new or changed enabled setup requires a successful matching example check, valid for ten minutes and recalculated when saving. Changing options, a promotion, currency or tax-entry basis invalidates the relevant check.

If another staff member saves the same product, reload before continuing. A stale editor is prevented from overwriting newer saved data. Keep one editing window per product when possible.

Advanced controls

Advanced controls expose the original field IDs, detailed table rows, charge replacement rules, table-switching rules and CSV tools. The guided interface creates internal names for new fields and choices; printers usually only need customer-facing labels.

Changing a label is different from changing an ID. Existing rules and rows refer to IDs, so ask a developer before renaming established internal identifiers. Opening Advanced controls does not automatically convert or rename your setup.

If a save fails, read the message and use its step link. Finish or cancel a staged compatibility rule, correct invalid grid text and rerun the ordinary price check. See draft recovery and price troubleshooting.
